Organic Agriculture

The farm was first documented in the 14th Century. Today it is an organic farm run in its entirety by the Laimer Family. In the Salzkammergut we were one of the pioneers of mother cow husbandry and we have a long standing history as organic farmers. Our cattle are fed with top quality hay and silage from our own farm.

Making sure that our animals can live in species appropriate conditions is of great importance to us. In winter the cattle have plenty of space in the cubicle housing shed and pen; their summers are spent grazing on the mountain pastures.

The animals are slaughtered in our own slaughter house which means they don’t have to suffer unnecessary and stressful transportation. This makes it possible for us to produce meat of an unusually high quality. We also sell our rare species of cattle (Limousin) for breeding purposes.
